You wanna be my friend?

Do you want to be my friend? Well actually you’ll only be my friend on the Playstation Network and Gamecenter. Read the rest of this entry

In a nutshell: Skyrim (2011) PS3 version.

Welcome to the first edition of “In a nutshell.” This is what I will post if I don’t have time to write a full-length review, or maybe the game just doesn’t warrant a full review. But what this essentially is, is a smaller review format.

Enjoy! Read the rest of this entry

Batman: Arkham City (2011), video game review.

For this review I am trying a slightly different review format. Some of you may recognize it from IGN and that is because I’m using that same format. Please leave comments on how you like it… Read the rest of this entry

Mass Effect 2 (2010), video game review.

Mass Effect 2 changes everything that the original did wrong. Where as the first games combat was bogged down by bad mechanics and lackluster gunplay, the sequel move the gameplay forward and finally makes it feel more like a shooter RPG hybrid, instead of an RPG with some not so great shooting attached.  While they didn’t drastically change-up the way players can manipulate the story, the ability to import your character, along with all of their choices and achievements, from the first game, it gives the player a stronger emotionally attachment to the story… Read the rest of this entry

Enslaved (2010), video game review.

Based loosely off a 16th century Chinese novel, Enslaved tells the story of a future in which you can’t go twenty minutes without running in to a malevolent machine wishing to kill you, or slavers ready to kidnap you. The world has been taken over by mechs, and the few survivors that aren’t slavers or the enslaved are scattered across the world in small pockets, desperately trying to survive. You control Monkey; Monkey is a loner. Moving form one place to the next he never stays in any one place for too long for fear that he might be attacked bymechs, or picked up by slaves. Unfortunately no one can avoid danger for long. Read the rest of this entry

Dead Space 2 (2011), video game review.

Twinkle twinkle, little star, how I wonder what you are… Never I may life did I imagine that this song would scare me. But the good folks over at Visceral Games did just that…and more. Dead Space 2 is the scarcest thing I’ve encountered since childhood terrors. Read the rest of this entry

inFamous 2 (2011), video game review.

For this review I am trying a different format. Instead of an introduction and then the “Good and The Bad” section it is now just one big thing, followed by a brief overview. I did change the wording a tiny bit in the overview section. Please leave some comments on this post and others about how you liked them (or didn’t), and any other thoughts.

For those of you who are reading this and are not familiar with Cole McGrath, and the inFamous universe, first off, go read my review for the first game. Then go out and obtain the first game, play through it, and then you can come back and read my review for the sequel. If you have done that then you will know that Read the rest of this entry

Duke Nukem Forever (2011), video game review.

Thirteen years after its original 1998 release date Duke Nukem Forever has finally been thrown out to the world.
Last month Gearbox Software, the last of Duke’s many developers, released Forever to bad reviews and sales. Having spent so many years in utero it’s not really that surprising, but some had still hoped that Duke could pull through. I myself had only heard the Duke Nukem Forever story within the last couple of years, and only learned of Duke Nukem period, a year earlier.
And so, with absolutely no nostalgia clouding my vision I finally sat down, rented the game, and played it through… Read the rest of this entry

Portal 2 (2011), video game review.

Back in 2007, when the original Portal was released, it was hailed as one of the best new games. After finishing the amazing, albeit short, game fans were eagerly clamoring for another round. And so when Valve finally decided to reveal Portal 2 everyone was more than ready to get their hands on it.
I was a big fan of the original, I’m not the biggest Portal fan out there but it did make it onto my Top 10 Games list. But when I first saw Portal 2 I was a little uneasy. I thought that it would be all too easy to muck it up. There were just so many doubts running through my head, and up until the game released I still couldn’t have said whether or not it would succeed.
So, were my fears wellplaced…or not so much? Read on… Read the rest of this entry

“Classic” review, Fallout 3 (2008).

This is a review for Fallout 3 that I wrote back in ’09. So actually its not that “Classic,” that just sounded better then: “Review I wrote for school in 2009.” Read the rest of this entry
